David G. Hunt Named Executive Vice President and President-Elect of Suffolk County Council Boy Scouts of America

March 3, 2020 – Hunt Corporate Services, Inc. announced that March 3rd – Plainview, NY – Hunt Corporate Services, Inc. announced that David G. Hunt, president of Hunt, was named Executive Vice President of Suffolk County Council, Boy Scouts of America at their recent Annual Business Meeting. He assumes this position immediately. Mr. Hunt was also named President-Elect for a two-year term beginning in 2021. The Council President is the highest officer and top volunteer leader of the organization, promoting and extending a program for boys, girls, young men and women, over the geographical territory of the council. The president serves as chair at meetings of the council body, council executive board, and council executive committee, and serves as a council representative to the National Council. Suffolk County Council presently serves over 14,000 youth, engaging over 4,000 adult volunteers in multiple programs for youth from ages 5 to 21.

“I am very passionate about our programs,” explained Mr. Hunt. “The stated mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes, and that’s what we do. We prepare our young people for life. While having fun, our youth are trained in responsible citizenship, character development, and self-reliance through rank advancement, numerous outdoor activities, and educational opportunities, such as merit badges. Boys and girls can start Cub Scouting as young as 5, and progress through Scouts BSA to age 18. And if they desire, Sea Scouts, Venturing and Exploring offer high adventure and career opportunities to our older youth up to age 21.”

Mr. Hunt held the position of Vice President of Properties and Risk Management for the Council for the past five years. Mr. Hunt, who himself is an Eagle Scout, also serves as District Advancement Chair in the Matinecock District, one of four districts in Suffolk County Council. In this position, he oversees the advancement of 2,200 Scouts, 91 of whom earned Eagle Scout rank last year
