David G. Hunt Featured in LIBN Who’s Who 2021

David G. Hunt is the president of Hunt Corporate Services, Inc. and began his career in industrial and commercial real estate in 1973.  The firm is a professional practice that provides specialized experience and expertise in the disposition and acquisition of corporate real estate.  Unlike traditional real estate brokers, the company only represents its clients exclusively, by contract. Structured for maximum flexibility and minimum response time, the firm, in the role of a trusted advisor, provides its clients with highly personalized corporate real estate service that is straightforward, timely and confidential.

The Hunt real estate practice has represented transactions with well over a billion dollars in aggregate value. Hunt and his firm have been recognized with numerous prestigious awards, including Top Broker of the Year award from Long Island Business News, and a Top 20 Power Broker designation for many years. Hunt is a published author with over 120 articles regarding commercial real estate to his name, and writes a monthly column for the New York Real Estate Journal.

“As the economy continues to recover, look for the growth of repurposing existing buildings,” said Mr. Hunt.  “The industrial market on Long Island has the lowest vacancy rate of industrial buildings that I have seen in my 48-year career.  At the same time, there is a glut of office space, propelled by the work-at-home environment.”  He continued, “Our firm has recently participated in two transactions in which an office building has been converted to industrial use.  This trend will continue, and almost certainly grow.”

Hunt earned a bachelor’s degree from Georgia Tech in 1973. He has also earned a Master of Corporate Real Estate designation from Corenet International, a Certified Commercial Investment Member designation from the CCIM Institute, and an SIOR designation from the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors.  Mr. Hunt is one of the very few professionals in the United States to hold all three prestigious designations.

Hunt earned the Eagle Scout rank in 1967, and today serves as President of Suffolk County Council, Boy Scouts of America.  At the end of last year, the Council was serving approximately 10,000 girls and boys, with the dedication of over 3,000 adult volunteers.  Mr. Hunt has received the Boy Scouts of America Distinguished Citizen Award, the District Award of Merit, and the Silver Beaver Award, the highest national award that can be bestowed by a Council. He has coached hundreds of Scouts to Eagle Scout rank, and also has served as a District Advancement Chair, overseeing the advancement of 2,200 Scouts.  In 2020, he oversaw the leadership project and Eagle Board of Review for the first female Eagle Scout in Suffolk County.  Mr. Hunt is also the founder and publisher of www.EagleCoach.org, a coaching website for Eagle Scout candidates throughout the United States.

He and his wife, Judith, were ordained as interfaith ministers in 2011, and live in Northport, New York. Their grown son, Dr. Jonathan Hunt, lives with his wife Andrea, in San Leandro, California.
